Mr. Birnbaum focuses on the firm’s energy practice and is a key resource in the valuation of energy-related assets such as pipelines, E&P, wind, solar and oil field services.

Prior to joining VRC, Mr. Birnbaum was the lead Midstream Energy/Master Limited Partnerships (MLPs) equity research analyst at Wunderlich Securities. Prior to Wunderlich, his equity research career spanned seven years at UBS and two years at Morgan Stanley, during which time he covered MLPs & Natural Gas, Packaged Foods and Food & Drug Retail. Mr. Birnbaum began his career at JPMorgan Chase.

He received a bachelor of science in applied economics and business management from Cornell University and an MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University. He is a CFA charterholder.
